Year 4 and 5 had a fruitful visit to the ‘La finca Cal Batlle’. A key part of the visit was to learn about the life of the farmer. The children enjoyed a video about this.

They went on to learn about bread making which was a learning event that was great fun.

History played a part in their visit too when they learnt about the ‘fil.loxera’! This is a Catalan name for an insect that attacks that vine and has caused devastation to vineyards centuries ago.

The students went on to play a game whereby they were the vines and the teachers were the insects!!
