On Monday, 19th of December ESCAAN International School welcomed the university professor, Mr. Jeffrey Breyer from ESEC Toulouse Business School (Barcelona Campus) who presented a business case study to Y11, Y12 and Y13 business students.

This is a wonderful way of learning and ESCAAN is thankful to ESEC for giving us the opportunity to listen to a lecturer of a university caliber.

Christmas Football Competition

On the 15th December the main event of the year had arrived and teams
limbered up for the big competition.  Santa hats could be seen, pompoms
were at the ready and kick off was minutes away.  Yes the Christmas
Secondary Football Competition had arrived and whether the students were
playing or cheerleading they were keen to get underway.  With each team
wearing a Christmas item and energetic Christmas music playing to spur
the players on, the two leagues kicked off and battled hard, but fair.
The teams played each other in the leagues with goals being celebrated
and music being danced to.  The top two teams went through to the final,
which was an equal game that almost led to a nil-nil draw, but in the
last minute….GOAL….and it was to be the decider.  The only goal had
gone to the winning team of Carlos, Emil, Alex, Lucas, and Amanda with
cheerleaders of Arnau, Marta and Charlotte.  Receiving the prize for
most supportive cheerleaders were: Julie, Emily, Paula and Lucia.  An
excellent afternoon – well done to all.  Merry Christmas.

Year 8 Mathematics

At the end of this term Year 8 have focus their efforts on measures in Mathematics.  We have considered converting metric units, investigating area and perimeters and practically estimated different lengths, masses, areas, and capacities; then we measured them.  We also measured the circles on the playground and compared the ratio between the diameter of a circle and its circumference in order to investigate where pi came from.  An active finish to the term.

Els estudiants de Year
10, en petits grups o individualment, han elaborat un petit fragment de
programa de ràdio. Hem pogut comprovar que tenim un bon planter de
locutors de ràdio! La inventiva, els efectes sonors i els guions han
estat genials! Bona feina, Year 10!!!

CANTEM EL NADAL 2011

TY have sung Christmas Alphabet for CANTEM EL NADAL 2011, Canal Blau TV – Maricel Televisió. The program will be shown on the 22nd of December. Watch out for Escaan’s newest stars! Well done to all of TY and not forgetting Louise who has patiently taught the song to them.

Floppy’s visit

Floppy’s Visit

Years 2 and 3 have had a visit from Floppy! He is on an International Adventure and Escaan International School is the 9th school he has visited. He came to us from Switzerland and will be traveling to Dubai next.

The children enjoyed looking through his passport and talking about the countries he has visited so far.

The students drew pictures of their favorite Floppy Moments which we made into a fabulous poster and book and we have made postcards of our drawings for Floppy to take with him to his next school.

Last full week of term 1!

What a busy week for Year 5! Making Christmas gifts, cards and decorations. Using clay to make our Incan containers and, of course, lots of rehearsals for the Christmas show! We hope to see you all there next week.
