White Circles

In ECU1 we are learning colours and shapes vocabulary. This week we were working on White Circles. The children had fun, sticking white circular cotton wool pads on the different coloured paper, experimenting also with different textures.

Science is an integral part of modern culture. It stretches the imagination and creativity of young people. Its challenges are quite enormous.

Lets find out about Joan Miro

Year 2 have been finding out about the life of Joan Miro. We looked at a timeline of his life, dicussed the most important parts and had a look at some of his work. We then made a timeline of his life in our jotters and added information from memory to it. We now know lots about him and his life! ;)

y6 enjoying a “normal” week – well until Friday!

A more normal working week this and we’ve continued with our revision of Science

so this week’s photos show studying these colourful books. We’re on to non-fiction

reading and writing, and in Maths, shapes. I’m enjoying reading the extended stories

that the children have written – better work and good to read. THank you.

We teachers are working on Friday but the children have a lovely day off.

Enjoy it everone!

Y6 enjoying finishing the watrfalls

It’s all rather a rush this week. Finishing art work but that’s always quite goos fun. Apart from that we are doing practice papers for the exams. Not long now!

Year 2 get arty

Year 2 have been recreating and designing their own Miro pictures. We painted  on the bright blocks of bold color first and then added the black lines in with oil pastel once the paint was dry. Don´t they look great!

World Maths Day

Continue to share the great work from World Maths Day, here are more pictures of secondary pupils completing their 15 minute challenge to build the tallest tower that would hold a tennis ball made from straws.  Starting with 200 points students lost 5 points for every straw used and gained points for every centimetre high it was.

Maths/Spelling Day ECU

Last Tuesday 6th March in ECU3 we joined in with the World Spelling Day activities listening to and attempting to write simple dictation using our jolly phonic knowledge. We also enjoyed using the starfall website for simple spelling of CVC words.

On Wednesday 7th March in ECU3 we joined in with the World Maths Day, by talking about positional language, then we enjoyed skittles on the playground recording our results on paper.  Then in the afternoon we made a maths collage from magazines of different shapes and numbers.
