Lets find out about Joan Miro
Year 2 have been finding out about the life of Joan Miro. We looked at a timeline of his life, dicussed the most important parts and had a look at some of his work. We then made a timeline of his life in our jotters and added information from memory to it. We now know lots about him and his life!

Year 2 get arty
Year 2 have been recreating and designing their own Miro pictures. We painted on the bright blocks of bold color first and then added the black lines in with oil pastel once the paint was dry. Don´t they look great!

Year 3 loves World Maths Day
On Wednesday Year 3 had a wonderful day doing Maths as part of World Maths Day. We completed a range of Maths activities from Tessellations to Symetrical Patterns to Maths Football. The highlight of the day for the children was a Maths workshop with Year 8 where the older children taught the younger children about shapes and then we had an interactive quiz using the voting handsets. A big thank you to Year 8 and Mr Prestidge for making our Maths Day so much fun.

Tudor´s Got Wives Assembly
Well done to all of year 4 for having a successful assembly and I hope you enjoyed performing it as much as the audience did watching it. With only a short time to prepare you have all shown the school how talented and gifted you all are!
Thank you to all the parents who contributed to the children´s costumes; every child looked amazing.

What a week: some exams, World Spelling Day, World Maths Day, A trip to the Theatre, and finally the last of the exams. It’s all go. We’re also writing a long quest story and really rasining our game in writing! Big improvements. Well done, everyone!
The classroom pictures are of lessons writing the story.
Then there are two taken on the trip to the theatre, the first as they were waiting to go, and the second waiting for curtain up at the theatre. The show was good ghosts and all!
Then back to a great Y9 and Y6 together with Mr. Prestidge showing his usual energy and enthusiasm. Thank you Mr. Prestidge!

Year 4 Maths Day!
During Maths day children worked extremely hard with the year 10s looking at times tables, angles and shapes. After the session some children felt confident they were ready to take on year 10 – Emma in year 4 shouts… “Mr Padden! I´m smarter than her!”
Children also learnt about plotting co-ordinates and used them to create alien masks…

Y6 – On Leap year day!
It’s an unusual date and I told the class that in UK this is the day when traditionally the ladies can ask the gentleman to marry them. This bothered a couple of the boys but they were relieved to hear they don’t have to say, “yes.”!
We started drawing the human body in movement. Getting the proprtions right has proved to be harder than expected but great improvements have been made – legs have grown longer!!.

Active Maths!
Year 2 have been working on understanding symmetry and applying their knowledge to active maths problems. They have been working individually, in pairs and in groups to create symmetrical patters with peg boards, uni fox and whiteboards. They have been working very hard, well done Year 2!
