City Planners

Our topic, Sitges and local traffic, has inspired Year 5 to design and build a city that allows traffic to flow freely. We have looked at road types and strategies on where to place important buildings like: hospitals, police station, schools, etc. Year 5 are even including 3D buildings to bring their plans to life! Miss Carrington.

Year 5 Maths

This week, Year 5 has been exploring the world of shape! We built 3-d shapes to calculate the volume, we had a lot of fun building interesting shapes and using our written methods to complete our work.

Genial !!!

Year 5 PSHE / Changes

Children are discussing changes in their lives from the little changes to new lives: moving countries, meeting new friends, getting older, etc.

Year 6 Exams and Trip

It’s been exam week – not that it was as intense as other terms. So it has been a heavy week but we ennded really nicely with a trip to the Maritime Museum.

WE went with y4 and y5 and hada workshop on maps which was interesting. We then went to look a a sailing ship in the old port – still part of the museum visit. The sun shone and we had a lovely warm day after the rain of earlier in the week. A lovely end to the week!

Year 4,5 & 6 Maritime Museum Trip

Children were able to explore Spain’s history in world exploration by boat.

Children visited an actual boat used by the Spanish as well as hold and analyse actual nautical instruments used on voyages!

Following instructions

This week in year 5 we tried our best to follow and then evaluate instructions by making salt dough. We read, measured amounts and followed each step. We put our maths skills to use by carefully measuring amounts to create dough with a good consistency. Some of us even made figurines when they dried!
