Y6 We’re back – same room but a new group of children.
Hello there! Here we are a new group now getting used to y6. Everyone seems to be settling down well and beginning to understand what is to be done this year.
After the first few days, we started the term’s programme. In art, we have already learnt about shading with some pleasing results.
In topic we are looking at how life has changed since 1940. We have a lot questions to ask to find out from family and friends how things were in their childhoods. (There could be some surprises at how new some things are – things we, or the children, take for granted now!

y6 just finishing exam week
The exams are almost over. The children have worked hard and seriously so we all hope they do well. They have behaved very well throughout and I have been proud of them. After this they can have a bit more fun for a change. They have been enjoying practising for the Summer Concert. And we’re beginning to talk about good books to read over the Summer.

Y6 enjoying a “normal” week – well until Friday!
Somehow it’s a busy week. Writing argument can take more thinking about than we had anticipated but we’re getting there. Art has looked to some special dates which are appraoching. It’s been quite a challenge but again we should manage it. Then, at the end of the week, we have Mr. Boli. It’s been great reading some of the entries – some of the children can really write! Well done!

Y6 – On Leap year day!
It’s an unusual date and I told the class that in UK this is the day when traditionally the ladies can ask the gentleman to marry them. This bothered a couple of the boys but they were relieved to hear they don’t have to say, “yes.”!
We started drawing the human body in movement. Getting the proprtions right has proved to be harder than expected but great improvements have been made – legs have grown longer!!.
