Year 4 Forces

Year 4 have been having lots of fun measuring with Newton Meters. They measured different things in the classroom and are understanding weight is a measurement of force.

Year 4 Water Filter Challenge

Year 4 have been working hard to create their very own water filter using a bottle, sand, kitchen roll, gravel and filter paper to separate solids from their liquid!

Although their water looked clean, they were not able to drink it as it still had tiny microbes in the water.

Year 4 Dissolving Water

Year 4 have been learning about what happens when some solids are added to a liquid. All the children were able to use scientific vocabulary! Well done!

Year 4 Assembly – Explorers

Year 4 have been working very hard to learn their lines, actions and queues within a short period of time. We had a fantastic time performing it and hope everyone enjoyed watching it!

Genial !!!

Ilya’s Last Day

Year 4 had to say goodbye to one of its pupils. Ilya has left to France and we wish him and his family all the best!

We are Beautiful!

This week we are working hard to prepare for the Summer concert as well as doing our final exams, so as you can imagine, we have a lot of stuff to do! However, amongst all the stress and pressure we need to remember to relax and have fun. Summer is approaching and as the school year comes to an end, we look back at our long journey together and remember the good things and the things we have worked to improve. One of our focus points has been trying to get everyone to get along together. Children need to understand that everyone is different and that’s what makes life so special, it’s what makes getting to know people so much more fun. We need to accept everyone as they are, which also means accepting ourselves in the process. The following video reminds us of exactly this, we are all beautiful in our own way, no matter what anyone says. So here is our very own Bea Kohner, performing the popular Christina Aguilera song for the Philippine community. Thanks for sharing this wonderful performance with us!

Tudor´s Got Wives Assembly

Well done to all of year 4 for having a successful assembly and I hope you enjoyed performing it as much as the audience did watching it. With only a short time to prepare you have all shown the school how talented and gifted you all are!

Thank you to all the parents who contributed to the children´s costumes; every child looked amazing.

Year 4 Maths Day!

During Maths day children worked extremely hard with the year 10s looking at times tables, angles and shapes. After the session some children felt confident they were ready to take on year 10 – Emma in year 4 shouts… “Mr Padden! I´m smarter than her!”

Children also learnt about plotting co-ordinates and used them to create alien masks…

Imaginary Setting – Year 4

Year 4 Blog Week 4

This week we have been having a lot of fun in literacy and topic. We have been using computers to write articles and have been carrying with our imaginary world story writing. Below you can see a good first effort by Laura.

In Maths we have had fun with place value and money. The pictures show children buying objects… and teachers… in the classroom. Staying within a £10 budget.

Imaginary Setting

I sit silently on my wooden, peaceful bench watching the powerful wind blowing through the marvellous trees. The dazzling green grass and the magical door fill me with joy because I am home. I like being home because I like the magical place where I live.
